ITX build with moar power

Hey all

I usually don't ask for advice on a build but I have never done an ITX build before. I want power, so maybe 7990 - or is there no ITX case that would house one?

Requirements
- Decent spec GPU that'll beast any current game
- CPU has to be i7 4770k

Can this be done?

Certainly can be done. The Prodigy will fit a 7990, but it is quite big for an ITX. The Phenom ITX I wouldn't recommend - pretty as it is - as it has no side vents.

The Cooler Master Elite 120 will also fit a 7990 (someone, somewhere on these forums has that setup). An updated version of that case - the Elite 130 - should be available soon.

It looks like the Antec PSU is 180mm deep, 160mm is the maximum recommended depth for a psu in the prodigy. Also it is showing as out of stock at the moment. I would suggest something like the Seasonic G-750 or Seasonic X-850, or a high end Corsair such as the AX760i.

Thanks for this piece of info. I have gone for the Seasonic 860W which is ~160mm
 
You can build a very nice spec machine into a SG07:

This one was a 4770k, 16gb, 256gb SSD, 2TB HD, RW Bluray and 670GTX :). I was tempted to buy a Titan at the time to see if it would fit and not cook itself to death but then blew the PSU up and decided to go back to ATX and crossfire 2 7950's instead.

To be honest I wouldn't consider the Prodigy an ITX sized build, the mATX version of the case is the exact same size, so you might as well do a mATX build, as then you'd have the option of SLI or Crossfire later on for even more power and it wouldn't be any larger :)

I'm not sure if there are any ITX sized cases that can accommodate the largest GPU's though.

I'm personally looking to put my 3770K and GTX 670 into an FT03-Mini.

FT03-mini is a great case, love it. is there a windowed version ?
 
Not as far as I'm aware, I think it would go against the design idea with it, which was no vents or ports on the exterior, so it's very clean from the outside.

Also I'm not sure where they'd put a window, most of the components are mounted to the outside edges with a vortex of air going up through the centre to cool everything with just 1 big quiet fan :)

Maybe a window on the top won't be a bad idea but you'd need some decent cable management :)

EDIT: maybe not :D, I think the psu goes on top if I'm not wrong
