Hey everyone,

I was wondering if you would be able to help in speccing a new ITX / Micro - ATX PC for me.

I have a £2000 budget and the build will be used for Gaming @ 1440p (LG-32GP850-B), Video editing (Davinci Resolve) & Audio production (FL Studio)

Unfortunately I am unable to use an Ethernet cable so Wifi would be needed & would like an nVidia graphics card (never branched out to AMD)

My current full tower from a few years ago is quite an inconvenience when on the move so something with a small size would be great (not ideal to have a handle or anything on the case)

edit; if you also have any recommendations for an ultra wide monitor it would be much appreciated (would not be included in the £2000 budget & my current one the 32gp850-b is great but would love more screen real estate)

many thanks!

M-ATX: AMD/DDR5

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,236.88 (includes delivery: £7.99)

ITX: Intel/DDR5

Total: £1,838.89 (includes delivery: £11.98)

There's not much difference in size between those two cases, the P200 is a large ITX case, but it does have room for a long graphics card and supports ATX PSUs. There's a RGB version available and vertical GPU support, but you have to pay for the riser separately.

2k build with a £40 case, you guys are utilitarian AF
I didn't choose cheap cases on purpose, but just because doing a MATX or ITX build needs more effort when you don't already know the case specs (due to clearance and airflow issues).

Would be cool to offer the op some more choice if you know a decent ITX case to build in.

I personally only have experience of the NR200 which is a great starting point especially for a ITX newbie as it's fairly spacious and easy to build in.

But I think they are OOS on OCUK and seem to have become significantly more expensive than I remember. The kit of PSU + AIO was well reviewed and seemed good value at the time of release

Hard not to like the max also...comes with a 850w psu, gen4 riser cable for connecting gpu to mobo and a 280mm aio

I'm partial to the lian li Q58 also

I guess it depends whether you just want a smaller case than you have now or if you want a SMALL case.

The NR200 is still a fairly big ITX case compared to things like the Fractal Terra and A4 H2O. At 18L it's almost double the size of those 2.

At 30L the Phanteks case above is triple the size!

How much you care about that and whether you're prepared to deal with the faff and restrictions of building in a smaller case is of course up to OP.

At £350, I still think it's decently priced for what you get. But only if you care enough about the smaller form factor.

true, but always seems to be a price premium for going smaller, and it takes a little bit of the hassle out having psu etc already there
Some nice cases coming out of computex also
Asus had some concepts with the gpu outside the case
Antec also had a nice looking one
Lian li x dan case a3 matx can fit a normal atx power supply in there also, and a 360mm rad if wanted...nice looking and $69

Seems like a good deal from a good manufacturer.

I remember when I was building my first PC, Lian Li were the unobtainable dream manufacturer. Absolutely loved their B25 case but ended up building in a CM690 which I won in a competition!

My son bought the 42" lg c2 oled tv. oled so perfect blacks and hdr, instant reponse times etc, and has a native ultrawide mode that turns it to 3840x1660 which is equiv of a 38" ultrawide(4k is 3840x2160 so you get black bar at top and bottom, though you can move position of screen to have black bar only at bottom or top so to speak)
otherwise, if you like the 32pg850 then the lg 38gn950p would fit in with what you have, but the 42"c3 can be had for £750 at mo....depends what you use you monitor for also, and what budget you want to spend...
the newer c4 increase screen to 144hz also, but you'll have to wait for black fri for price to come down

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £699.95 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Its a pretty large case for carrying around. Half height ITX cases can fit in some laptop bags.
