I am looking to build an ITX form factor possibly from this board
VIA EPIA N10000E Nano-ITX Mainboard.

I am hoping to fit it into a spare DVD drive and use it as a firewall browser.

Question is can I hook it up to my existing case and if so how do I do it or what cables do I need ?

I am thinking maybe there is an extension for the power pin which I hope is all I would need.

Anyone know how to, or have some links to some relevant sites.

I still have to sort out all my components as well I hope to run it with normal hard disk and DVD with w98 or Linux Ubantu.
thanks

try a search on googl for mini-itx and it should be the first link. that site has loads of projects people have done with mini-itx and i guess nano-itx boards now their out.

i have seen what your wanting to do on the net, but it was along time ago.

your on about having it fitted in your atx case, and connecting the psu etc up to it as well as your normal pc???

Yes that is exactly what I want to do, I have no experience with ITX and I am not sure about what cables and parts I need but I would like to know how to do it before I spend money.

Will have a look through that site later seems quite large.

judging from the pics of hte nano boards they have changed the psu connector, but everything else should be as normal (i.e. just like your normal atx mobo).

on the site i told ya to search for, they did a review of the N10000 and it shgows you pics and a description of everythin you get in the box, one thing being a converter for the psu (20 pin ATX plug), so you should be ok connecting it to a normal psu

From when ive built Mini ITX machines, there is no reason why you couldnt fit it in a standard ATX case with a little modding. Im pretty sure that the stand offs wouldnt fit as standard, but the could.... would have to check.

Id really look at getting a proper Mini ITX case, they look cool and u can get ones that can take full size drives and HDD's, ** not limited to expensive slimline CD/DVD and 2.5" hdds these days.
