Hi everyone,

I still haven't decided for which generation to go between i7 2600k and i7 3770k.
I don't care about igpu since I will be using a dedicated card. Does PCIe 3.0 offer a great performance to a GTX 680? This is the component that is still holding me from buying my new rig components.

Regards Lydon :)

If you can only find them for the same price, get the 3770k.

If you can find the 2600k for ~£30+ cheaper, get the 2600k.

PCIe 3 will only help multi-gpu, multi-monitor setups. The better iGPU is useless for you. I guess the better power consumption won't mean much to you. The memory speeds are better on IB but probably not worth the extra money a 3770k costs.

Thanks for replying. Well I'm planning to go GTX 680 sli later on. 2600k price is at 229.99 while 3770k is at 259.99 from ocuk.
