ok so ive been asked to build 2 computers for my work these are going to be budget PCs for the use of AutoCAD 2007 and autoCAD 2010 that is it.

the company is going thought difficult financial times as expected in the construction industry so as cheap as possible i already have 2 cases with built in 450w powersupply's

so can you spec me everything i will need for 2 identical PCs including moniter (preferably built in speakers) etc do not need keyboard mouse or OS.

thanks guys!

also we have an office 100 miles away if there any cheap way of storage that can be accessed online and when accessed the changes made are saved to the accessed drive??

thanks in advance!

what cases do you have, and what make and model of power supplies did they come with?

i really need to know that before i spec anything, because the last thing i would want to do is spec a fantastic deal but have it not fit

also, quite a lot of people dont realise this, but there is a world of difference between PSU's, and you REALLY dont want to use a no-brand generic PSU.

heres an example of why:

also, if you could give us a rough budget to work with that would be great.

if this powersupply is not recommended then i will swap it out for a Corsair Builder Series CX 430W ATX Power Supply or a OcUK Swift 650W Silent Power Supply which ever is recommended!

ah, in that case i think a new power supply might be wanted. i will wait for someone else to tell me if they would be happy running ~180W from it. nothing wrong with the case though. its nothing fancy, but it'll do (which is what i guess your after)

i've included a PSU in this spec, but if it turns out the PSU is up to the job then you can happily remove it. also, i really wasnt sure about budget, so i just did my best, while keeping upgrade paths open

this will allow the company to upgrade to bulldozer CPU's later on if they wish, which should save them from shelling out on an entirely new PC.

im not really sure what kind of graphics you need for CAD work, so ive gone for decent onboard. hopefully someone can come in here and set the record straight for me

corsair 430W is definitely the way to go if the PSU turns out not to be good (highly likely)

very good i could actually do with less ram i think as the recommended is 2GB for the latestes autocad so 4 would be good.

thanks for your help much appriciated
