I've been banned from my favourite COD2 server because they think i use hacks

Hi all,

For Christmas i finally got COD2 and have really enjoyed playing it, i went through the singleplayer missions several times.

It's only very recently that i've started to play my collection of games online as i've only just found that quite a few of my friends play multiplayer games as well. So it was through them that i found XFire and started playing COD2 online a couple of weeks ago.

At first, like anyone else, i was really bad, getting completetly slaughtered on servers with lots of people. However, after finding this server i started to get better at the game as only a few people are ever playing.

The two admins of the server were always on and grew to know me and knew that i was still a 'n00b' at the game seeing as i could never kill them. They seemed pretty decent and always helped me out with anything.

Since then, they had server problems and therefore i didn't get to play against them much, if at all. Because of this, i started branching out and playing on other servers and inevitably i became a LOT better and can now beat them quite easily. I improved over the space of about 1 and a half weeks, playing everyday for quite a while.

When i joined the server today and started getting far more kills and far less deaths than the two admins, they accused me of cheating. I was shocked at this as they had played me many times before and knew that i don't cheat.

They told me to leave and come back when i wasn't using cheats otherwise they would ban me. I told them that i would, but seeing as i don't use cheats they will kick me anyway when i come back and start winning again. I carried on playing on their server as i hadn't done anything wrong and they ended up kicking me :mad:

What annoys me the most is that i would probably do the same thing if i was them. Because i only started playing online a few weeks ago, i was really bad and could never beat them but now that i can, after only a short while, it does sound a bit fishy.

I know that there's nothing that i can do until punkbuster becomes available for COD2 but that was my favourite server and i really enjoy playing there

Has anybody else had any experiences like this?

If you constantly play people who are not as good as you then you will never improve. Move on to a server populated with people who actually know what they are doing and you will improve further.

I didn't know what to do as it's the first time it's happened to me. I suppose you're right though.

And i though they were decent people

Any idea when the COD2 patch will be released with pb?

Jump onto our clan's CoD2 server and you will be welcomed. It's an American based server but, there are more from Europe than the U.S itself. The server runs a mod from the original CoD game called AWE which, enables sprint, cookable nade's, healthpack's and anti map exploit.

I think sometimes when i have a rifle and happen to walk into someone and i fire randomly, managing to hit them it may give the impression that i'm cheating but i sometimes wonder how i hit them. I'm still a bit frustrated at getting kicked

Also when looking for servers to play on without the 'OMGZORS HAXX!!11' appearing frequently in your game avoid clan servers with names such as 1st reg, 11th ARMY and stuff like that - its not always true but 9 times out of 10 these guys think they are the pinacle of skill and someone who goes in and is better than them is always seen as a hacker.
I also tend to avoid servers running heavy mods like the one someone mentioned above(AWE?) - another general statement but every time i go on one of these i get kicked for my 1337 hacks.
