They day i thought/hoped would never come has :(

My Debit Card has been cloned, and they've taken just over £1200 from my account from various cash points, leaving me WELL overdrawn.

I've been to the bank today to get it all reported, the transactions that aren't mine noted down and hopefully the process will be underway very shortly.

Not good when i've got a Holiday to go on as from this Saturday :(

Thieving scrotes

Sorry to hear that mate, same thing happened to me two years ago but luckily I noticed that same day so only lost £300. If it's any consolation the bank were very good at dealing with my case and it only took a week to get it sorted and money back!

Are debit cards auto covered now, or do you have to take extra protection out? (as the banks are clearly and almost forceably pushing this cost on us now it seems with there failure to REALLY do anything about fraud).

No idea how they do it.

It sickens me to think i go out and work for the money, and some swine just copies a card and takes the money. Its even more sickening to think that once they have maxed out my card, they will just move on to the next.

Disgusting.

Has happened to me as well about 6 weeks ago.
Someone ordered $1200 worth of furniture in the States on my card and had it sent to an address over there as well:eek:
Why didn't the bank think of checking up on the transaction:confused:
When I rang them, they just tried to sell me some privacy guard thing at 8 quid a month:mad:
Told them to shove it up their **** and sort out the matter in hand first.
Got it all back after a few days.

Who else checks cashpoints for anything suspicious over the card slot/ cameras above the keypad?

Ever since I saw it in the Real Hustle I've thought about it. When one was discovered on a cash point in Chester it made it even more real.
