Well 2 years ago i sold my much loved rs turbo. This weekend i saw it for sale on a well known auction site, so i phoned the chap to see how much he wanted for it.

I managed to come up with a deal, so i went and picked it up on Sunday. I must say i am delighted. I'm only going to use the car as a show / weekend car. Ill get some piccies up soon.

Also, i managed to get it featured in performance ford without knowing, luckily the chap i bought it off had a copy of the issue.

What sort of power is that thing kicking out? Looks like a fun toy :) Why did you sell it in the first place?

Ive got graphs proving 260 BHP at the wheels and 258 LBFT of torque.

I sold it because i was young and couldn't afford to run / insure it.

260 BHP? I think of one thing - Torque steer ! - I recall my 195BHP S2 RST,it was supposed to have an LSD (viscous coupling iirc?) but always felt like it had not got one!

I bet yours is a beast! :D

Post some pics mate. :) (No need for Hovis tbh.) ;)

Ill get some piccies up this weekend mate. No hovis needed, just check the magazine cutting for proof my names right there ! haha.

The torque steer is great fun.

I believed you mate. :D

I'd have to disagree slightly about the torque steer - mine found a ditch due to it more than once! :o

Just out of interest, how old were you when you sold it and how long has the gap been between you selling & buying it back?

And, what did it go for and what did you get it back for?

Yes, I'm a nosy old git! :o:D

Ouch, luckily the roads round here are in top condition. Saying that though when i had it before, i hit the god of all pot holes and cracked one of my alloy wheels in half.

I sold the car for £2800. It was in poor mechanical condition at the time though. The gearbox and engine needed dire attention. I bought it back for £2650 and my L reg golf vr6.

Its a million times better now. I have receipts here summing up to over £4000. Its had EFI Gotech management fitted and recently tunned by Jamsport, since i owned it last.

Nice one, has it had anything done to it since you last had it and is it in better or worse nick?

Its had loads done since i owned it. Such as;

Stage 4 engine rebuild, bored out to 1.7, over sized pistons, uprated crank, cams, vernier pulleys, refurbished cylinder head, solid lifters.

Stage 3 turbo, -31 actuator, 360 Thrust bearings.

EFI management, Gotech Pro, Fuel mixture computer in the glove box.

Avo coilovers, Quaife gearbox.

Got the receipts for all of this.

Call me stupid, but what is a tallblock ?

Iirc its an American sourced 1.9 version of the CVH engine.

The American CVH block has been used by UK tuners for many years - remember 1.9CVH conversions for ££££'s a few years back?

I think the term tall comes from an extra 4mm block height! - Hardly tall at all! :D

love it m8, nice subtle styling with plenty of power :D
is the suspension tuned for the power? and what kind of LSD does it have?
i believe viscous would be useless with that sort of power
