Grr. I was on this part of the forum a few weeks back trying to sort out hard drive/windows issues (don't worry, I didn't expect anyone to remember me) and just when everything is running vaguely smoothly, I go and screw things up again.

I don't know what I've done, to be honest. I turned my PC on this morning after having had it on last night, and it wouldn't boot into Windows. I got the screen asking to me to choose between safe mode, safe mode with networking, last known good configuration etc, but none of the options get me into Windows. They get me to the boot up screen (where the XP logo comes up, and Windows starts to load - mine is customised, and the custom one shows) but the PC just hangs there, and eventually reboots after a good few minutes. Then the process repeats again.

I've tried the HDD in another machine, and it does the same thing. It looks like a Windows issue because, as I said, my custom boot up screen still displays. The menu I get warns that 'a recent hardware of software change may have caused this' but the only change I've made recently was to install new firmware for my DVDRW, which seemed to be working fine (though I did install that yesterday, I'm assuming its a coincidence). I can't think what I've done. The PC, as far as I'm aware, powered down normally last night, and before then it was working fine.

Help? :(

Thanks
tTz

Looks like it's fixed, thanks to guys on another forum. This is the first time I've had a serious-ish PC problem that's been sorted within 24 hours, so I think it's cause for celebration. Most issues take me months to get to the bottom of. :p
