Im gonna buy a nice new cpu, ram and mobo. Ive decided cpu will be haswell so new 1150 socket, im not sure which cpu yet. Do you get a heat sink and fan with OEM? Im pretty sure not.

Cheers. Ive decided i wont need to overclock so I might just get this to save money... Intel Core i5-4670 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail

What you think?

TBH i have yet to see much cheaper deal breaker OEM cpu, alway less than a tenner difference, so imo not worth it, much rather have the retail version :)

And if you dont overclock then the i5-4670 is the same as the K version to you, save money on not getting a Z87 either as not worth the money if you not going to get the 4670, just get the board that matches the feature you require

What you say makes sense Joey. Im gonna weigh it all up. I want a good fast I5 (1150 cpu) a decent motherboard and 8 gig ram. Anything will be a much better upgrade to my old Q9400.

You only need 8G Ram 1600 will do and you don't need to spend much on a Motherboard just one that supports the CPU you decide on. I've got the 15-4670K but not overclocked and I don't have any complaints it runs any game no problem just try and spend a little on a aftermarket CPU cooler rather than use the stock one to keep temperatures down.

But if your gonna get a z87 board, I would personally spend the bit extra on a 4670k, so if you do decide in the future you want to OC then you have the option with a better cooler. Can generally get 4.2-4.6 easy enough

Thank you : )

This is gonna be the final build. Ive decided to spend a bit more on the cpu. So not the 44440 but the 4670

Intel Core i5 4670 Quad Core Retail CPU (Socket 1150, 3.40GHz, 6MB, Haswell,

MSI Z87-G43 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

TeamGroup Vulcan ORANGE 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLAD38G2400HC11CDC01)

I know what your saying about overclocking but I dont honestly think i'l need anything faster than this cpu.

If not overclocking, and there really isn't much point overclocking cpu's these days, then you really should be looking at the Xeon 1230v2 or v3, i7 cpu without the graphics, great buys. :)

Hello thanks for the recommendation but as Joey says im on a budget. Don't think il be disappointed in the 4670. Joey I have 3 SATA2 drives in there from western digital, 500gig/400 gig and 1TB. My psu is an Enermax Liberty 620w modular, its a great psu so it should be ok. Im getting its pointless getting a Z87 board now as not overclocking, so any more suggestions anyone?

Im also running windows 8.1 x64
