well after a stressfull week @ work fixing computers all week i came home on wednesday to find my own 3800x2 had died (rip) 610 stepping. I suspect memory controller had died as my mobo was telling me the computer failed to start because there is a memory error (asus) with no memory installed !! stupid bloody thing.

So now ive bit the intel dual core 2 bullet E6420 purchased abit fatality mobo and 2 gig patriot ram. freezer 7 pro

now what can i say but wooooooow after a little tinkering im up to 3ghz stable on normal volts eats my 3800x2 @2.8 for breakfast

What is the max clock on air for these little babys?

im well chuffed

all i need to do now is get rid off my ocz platinum crucial ballistix ram and my asus premium mobo

You should be able to hit 3.2GHz easily enough on air on stock voltage, although it might require a little vcore++ to be stable.

3.6 is about the limit on air, starts hitting 60's on air under load.

I`ve just assembled my e6420 rig as sig and I`m at 3.0ghz at 1.35v in BIOS as recommended by the hardforum overclocking guide... I haven't tested stability yet as I need to get something that works under Vista 64bit.

I`m well chuffed with 3.0ghz hopefully I`ll get it totally stable over the next few days although I`ve seen no instability so far but haven't pushed it yet. Vista scores it 5.6 for CPU and SuperPI 1m 18 secs
