I've finally ordered a.....

MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.33GHz 2GB 120GB 256MB graphics!

After all the hundreds of posts I've made on here looking for a laptop I have decided to take the plunge and leave my windows loyalties behind and jump into the mac realm!

Couldn't really ever choose which windows laptop I wanted and going for a mac just offered me so many advantages. I hope I can prove all the advice to be valid when my new toy arrives next week!

Thanks for all the help!

Jonny

Fair play, you won't regret it one bit. Give it a few months and then use WIndows again, you will be shocked just how good OS X is in comparison.

Of course, you have already seen the true advantage, the fact that you can run Winblows on it as well. :)

yeah i have thought this out for months and i never rush into a decision so i hope its a good one! As long as I don't dwell on the ££ too much it will be ok!

need to sort bootcamp out before i do other things =]
sooo nice and cold :p

what size of partition are you going to use for windows? I was thinking around 20gb would be grand on a 120gb disk.

Are you going to use parallels also?

i think you are on a different wavelength from me! WAMP is windows, apache, mysql and php. You maybe thinking of winamp which is a media player??

just found what im looking for.

It's called MAMP

If you're serious about web development, why not install Apache, MySQL and PHP yourself?

OS X comes with a version of Apache right out of the box, so all you have to do is install MySQL and PHP. Have a look at this tutorial here. Installing both MySQL and PHP is a walk in the park – the only difficult bit is editing a few files to get PHP working with Apache and configured to your requirements :)

could have done that on pc too but opted for wamp instead. one click installer saves you any hassle so why make more work for yourself!

thanks for link anyhow

Nice one,
You MIGHT regret it :p

I've had my Macbook since it came out, and all I've had is trouble. At the moment, it keeps dying on my constantly, and there's something funny going on with the screen.
