After fighting with my pc for the best part of 6 months ive given up with it, cannot be bothered fixing it.

so not i'm looking to get a laptop, i think it'll suit me a lot better, i often go on weekend trips and miss my computer, also usefull for transferring pictures from my camera onto it straight away instead of clogging up the car.

i can also lie in bed and be on the internet at the same time!!! wow :)

anyhoo, looking for laptop for around £400, going to get an external hard drive for it too.

any recommendations?

Just got a 2nd hand hp nc6400 off eBay for £300, its got the remainder of a 3-year warranty, Centrino Duo 1.83, 2gb - I was lucky with the price, I think there are some on there for £400 at the moment...

HP Business mobiles are very reliable, hence the 3 year warranty
 
just found out a friend works for cisco and can get a pretty good discount on computers :)

i'm looking at the dell vostro's, they look pretty good for the money :)

i've just got an acer aspire 7520 for 400 doddies. nice bit of kit too.

highlights are AMD Athlon 1.8ghz dual core, 80gb harddrive, 17" screen, nvidia graphics thingy and 1gb ram (although it needs 2gb really).
