I’ve got a hypothetical question!

Using Vista 64, if I can only clock to 2.8GHz with 4GB Ram but could clock to 3.2 GHz with 2GB would the speed increase against the decrease in RAM be worth it? Is there a point where the raw speed increase is beneficial over the RAM decrease or vice versa?

(I say hypothetical but this (I’m sure) is the case in many set ups)

Depends on whether what you're doing prefers more RAM or raw CPU speed to work with. Some apps/games would benefit from the CPU speed over the RAM, others the RAM over CPU speed.

Personally I'd rather have 4GB RAM and 2.8GHz.
