And frustratingly enough it has four 80mm fans which can be loud. I installed the Coolermaster LED ones. BIG MISTAKE! They are TOO loud and shift LITTLE air.

I need some new case fans. 80mm. Doesn't have to be fancy with LEDs or anything.

Thanks :D

Zalmans are quite good, more for the noise levels. Ambers are ok at 80mm.

I like the SilenX fans personally, however most do not rate them but may not have actually used them. They push reasonable air at very low noise levels, although like all fan DB and CFM claims the specs are miles off.

How much money do you have to spend on the fans?

Those new silenx look good, the ones with the chrome looking colour and a minifan just before motor - must be there to reduce noise?

For the four fans, well the SilenX fans are about that per fan. :D

The chrome SilenX I don't personally like, the black boring ones I find are better quality, although I have only ever used the one so not really in a position to make a comment on it.

Hopefully someone else can come along and provide some input. :)

I've just looked on a competitors website and one of them are going about twelve quid!
I'll raise more money for fans somewhere :D

Higher quality fans do set you back a fair bit of money, sadly its the way it works.

You could always try volt modding your current fans, but that just further lowers the airflow! :(

Just had a look at my copy of Custom Pc, it say that the Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000 80mm are the best ones. They measured it as 26 cfm and 21.5 dba.
They quoted that this makes the Silent Eagle 2000 the ultimate 80mm fan, as it provides more airflow than any other 80mm fan, bar the Vantec Tornado.

Custom PC said the Mirage had a Aluminium front, and that the v1000+ was a poor cooler.

Just a couple of examples, hold no weight with me anymore, they also listed Conroe's completley wrongly. No credability especially with cases after a string of dire errors, the Mirage most certainly does not have a aluminium front, how could you make such a mistake unless you were not reviewing the products first hand. ;)

Just got it today so just had a quick look at it, I think the best way to gauge what is best is to ask for peoples different opinions and see if a pattern emerges and what is recommended most.

Just thought I would mention what they said.

I dont mind Custom Pc but I do miss the Gigahz mag, that was a very good read and nicely presented never know why it stopped.

Yeh, I am very controversial as most people hate SilenX fans, but since Dec I have sworn by their 80mm ones, just not used anything that can beat them yet!

I wouldnt exactly call it controversial, controversial is communism lol, but I've got some silenx fans and they definetly are quiet and push a decent amount of air, but dont expect amazing results as these are built to be quiet.
The thing todo is to fit more fans when fitting silent ones (I use the word silent but i've yet to find a silent fan), so im cutting two holes in my case that cant be seen on the outside, that I will fit a 120mm and a 80mm in (wavemaster, one at back, one at bottom).

Silent = inaudable, through whatever means.

Fans need to be 5v before they make a huge difference really. Depends on the system they are in almost entirely.
