Hi All

Well i've talked the missus into letting me get a iMac at last even though i'm getting married in 14 weeks time :D
Got myself a 24 inch 2.8ghz version, just brought it back from America where it's a tad cheaper. So now the Apple transition is complete for me, well that is until the new iPhone gets released.
So i now have myself the 2.8ghz 24 inch iMac, 2.4ghz white macbook + the 8gb iPhone. When i 'Switched' from pc etc back in October last year, i never envisaged i'd have all this in less than 12 months and before my wedding lol. Then again neither did my missus :D

Nice :D

How did you bring it back from America!?

Hand luggage :p Very nice though, its the way forward but addictive and can become very expensive. Glad it survived the trip across though :) Did it work out a lot cheaper?

I wonder if you can use your HE discount in the America...?

Yes around £250 cheaper and i certainly can imagine it getting an expensive and addictive way of using the computers. From what i can gather i'd doubt you'd be able to use HE discount in the US. I tried to get a further discount starting off saying i'd like to buy the 20" iMac but would love a 24" if they could throw in a 8gb ipod nano, they said no! Doh! So i just said ok i'll take the 24".

Bit big for hand luggage?

Hi

Well i work for a well known charter (holiday) airline, and hence had the opportunity to take it onboard the aircraft without anyone battering an eyelid. One of the perks so to speak, we have various storage area's onboard our longhaul aircraft and have the advantage of a storage room next to the downstairs lavatory area so i placed it lying flat in the store room within the cargo net area. Usually you'd have to pay extra for it to be stored in the hold, or pay extra for a spare seat for it to be placed in and strapped in.

My first mac was a mac mini (easier inside my hand luggage) which i bought in Las Vegas last October then i sold that & got my macbook, then i've sold my ps3/psp/tom tom go510 to raise some funds for this iMac and now i got this in Orlando :)

= very happy guy now :D

I'd love to see a picture of an iMac box sat in a seat, with a seatbelt around it :D

"Sorry sir, we are fully booked.. you'll have to catch the next flight"
..."w..w..what do you mean? I can clearly see a computer sat in that chair"
*looks over*
"Oh.. you mean Mr Ian Mac"
"I.. Mac?"
"Yup"
"You can be serious?!"
"Yes. Row B, Seat 21"
"It's a computer"
"Please leave or I'll call security to escort you off"
