I've got to ask, why would you spend more time on here than in the real world?

After this happened in the ever-popular girlfriend thread I have to ask why someone would spend time on here to the detriment of their real life...

Would anyone else do that?

Does anyone else think that their internet time bites into their life?

I'll take the picture down at request of those involved

Depends, if you decide to stay in and browse the net instead of actually going out, then I would say it is taking up too much of your time. If you just happen to have stayed in for other reasons then it's not really any different to watching tv or playing games.

I've stayed in because it's our last game of the season tomorrow, and I generally don't turn up if I go out the night before. :o

Now the 2nd most viewed thread, after only 4-5 days.

The internet, this forum in particular, does sometimes affect my life in a bad way. I should be revising right now as GCSEs are under a month away which I'm obviously not doing right now.

Ive got a physics coursework to do for Monday aswell I think. Have I done it yet? No. Will I do some tomorrow? Maybe. Will I do it in the 3 free periods I have before the lesson? More then likely.

Nah, internet does suck up too much time, but thats pc in general, used to be a game addict, it changed over into an internet addiction and just a casual gamer now ( ie. not more as 15hrs a week), used to be doing 6 hrs a day gaming when i was 12-14 yrs old, prefer to eb addicted to forums& msn, than gaming, althougj i would like to completly drop pc addictions and do something more than school & work kept for pc and occasional ( just once a week or so) going out.

I've only got to change one draft piece of coursework and hand draw 2 lines of best fit onto some graphs and I'm done. :D

Doing coursework with very little time always made mine better somehow, probably working under pressure makes you stop rambling on about crap. :p

Have you started them yet? ;)

Coursework?

:p

My 6th form subjects are mainly coursework free. :D

Maths, further maths, physics, psychology (has coursework) and media studies (has coursework).

Gonna have quite a bit of free time next year. :p

hmmm

This is what happens.

I'm supposed to be sitting at my desk revising but I constantly keep checking these forums. I guess it's natural to have such a desire to socialize one way or another.

All of my GSCE subjects except English had very little coursework, and that of which we did we did in school.

Remember kids, pick the GNVQ route. No coursework and trips to Disney Land Paris ahoy! :)

Take it you don't have the retarded OCR B Physics course then
The only marks I lost in the 3 AS modules were on coursework, it was just a load of BS.

lol, I've got a friend who says if he does Public Services at college and doesn't become a policeman at the end of it he'll become a bin man because they get paid quite a lot.

I think he was serious.

The internet seriously bites into my time.. Infact I used to play 12-14 hours a day RPGs. Lucky I have realised how bad that was and managed to get my life back on track so now I at least try to do something constructive at the same time as browsing crap :p Not to mention previously I would put off meeting friends because I wanted to play games now real life gets priority which is good... I started computing hardcore at around 14ish and im 21 now and doing a Comp Sci degree so I don't think there is any way out for me hehe.

I dont spend a lot of time on here, probaiblly more than I should, but I use ym PC for other things like the news (tech news) and stuff which interested me a hell of a lot more than bloody school which really bores me now.

Sorry but I laughed at that 'classical civilizations'. Is that like really early civilisations or like classical Victorian and Edwardian stuff.

he's right, binmen get a decent wage, thing about it, would anyone do it for minimum wage? i certainly wouldn't, i'd rather scrounge of the govt.
