It’s got to the point where I have to buy something. My old card is artefacting and stuff like that.

rx6600 vs RTX3050 vs RTX2060

there all about the same price. And I’m not buying used because if they die in 3 months I’m screwed with a £400 paper weight.

or is there a better card at the same sort of price.

I game and game, also I do game a little.
Monitor is 75hz 1440 but I can play at 1080 I am now.

Yeah don't pay the ripiff second hand prices with no warranty, better to pay bit more for the retail card with warranty, lucky have a 1050Ti so can keep waiting.

The 6600 is the better choice out of those three cards, but would spend more for RTX3060Ti or 6600XT myself.
Prices are a joke though I'm waiting few more month's, was looking online last night at second hand GPU cards it's a laugh to see what they're asking for old cards £££££.

Looking at prices on overclockers there isn't much difference between the 6600 and 6600XT. I can vouch for the 6600XT as I bought one for my son and it's a cracking card and is much faster than the 6600

as others have said, the 6600 is the best of those 3, but its worth stumping up the extra for the 6600xt if you can manage it. Its a decent jump in performance over the non xt

at 1440p playing new game how log would you expect the card to last. I don’t want to spend 500 on a card that’s getting to EOL

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £910.48 (includes delivery: £10.50)

£450 for one of these :)

But I know what you mean. In terms of longevity It will keep playable performance longer than anything below it. And it will be able to handle anything that plays well on the consoles, so likely be playable till at least the next console refresh.

But tbh nothing you can buy now is going to hold its worth. Prices while much better than the last 18 months are still higher than they should be, and look to be coming down . On top of that rumours of an AMD refresh coming in the next couple months could shake up the market further. Intel cards coming in the spring. and next gen cards from nvidia and AMD end of '22/start of '23 All suggests that if you can wait you should.

For me if you have to buy right now, £450 for the 6600xt is the best bang for your buck. If you can't manage that the 6600 at £400 is still fine compared to most of the market. But I feel like the way things are going, in 6 months anything in the current market might look like a bad deal.

IMO £299 you should be getting 3070 performance but that won't happen in a million years, it's all a crazy!!

I agree my friend picked up a 5600xt for 290 then the world went mad and now there 450 used

my rx580 was 130 from OcUK and now there 300

I know right now nothing is worth what they cost but is an 6600xt worth 500+

i was as told the 6600 is a cut down 6600xt and is bios caped on oc, but a 6600 maxed out is the same as a 6600xt stock. Is this right.

CeX is always an option. Two year warranty on everything. You could get an R9 290X from them for £130 or a GTX 970/RX 470 for £145 if you just wanted something to get you by for now, rather than spending £400+ on a card you don't really want.

If things wasn’t stupid I would have had a 6600xt all day but it also would have been £300 not £500. But that said it should do me for a year or two.

I almost got a 5600xt off eBay but it’s just the lack of warranty with them been used.

I haven't seen any reviews where an overclocked 6600 can match a 6600 XT. I'm not saying it can't but I'd be surprised.

I’ve been told it’s like the 5600xt..
The 5600xt is a 5700 just bios locked to max clocks. When you move all sliders to the max the 5600xt was about 5% behind a stock 5700.

And all 5600xt’s could hit the max bios locked OC

As far as I can tell the 5600 XT and the 5700 have the same core configuration, but the 6600 doesn't have the same core config as the 6600 XT - the XT has more shaders (2048 vs 1792) and TMUs (128 vs 112) than the 6600 does.
