I’ve got to buy something..

Super so they don’t have the same core so 100% not a 5% difference in power…

so the question hear and now is, if 6600 is the best performance of all the cards in stock from 300 to 400…. Is the xt worth £100

If you don't mind stretching slightly above £400 I would get a 3060 rather than 6600xt because of the benefits of dlss on the 3060. The 3060 tends to do better in ray tracing which is likely to appear in more games https://youtu.be/VFHOZN5AV6E?t=1082

5 left in stock currently of this model, Asus GeForce RTX 3060 Dual V2 LHR 12GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

Cheaper single fan version which is likely to make more noise, Palit GeForce RTX 3060 StormX LHR 12GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

Another vote for the 6600 XT. Indeed, it may well be a minimal implementation of the chip but the PowerColor Fighter is currently £420. It's plenty enough for 1080p and my younger brother is really enjoying his.

If you play or plan to play plenty of games that use DLSS or RT in conjunction with it then stumping up the extra for a 3060 may be worth it, though the 6600 XT will offer about 12% more performance on average in rasterised games.

roughly 20 -25% better performance out of the XT. Not sure if its worth £100... But this one is only £20 more. So really no question

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £429.89 (includes delivery: £9.90)

yep that is what I will be buying. I didn’t see that card when I first looked
I did want the gigabyte one as the cooling look so much better but that one is 500

That's a hard question to answer. The XT is about 15% faster than the 6600 and you do have a 1440p screen so you want as much performance as you can get... but an extra £100 is a lot.

Of the other options on offer the 3060ti is definitely faster but is considerably more expensive - I was lucky and got the one in my other half's PC for £420 and I had to spend the same on my 6600 XT.

Personally, if your budget will stretch to the 6600 XT I'd buy that.

As soon as the rx6800 came out I managed to buy (paying higher than the rrp) one each for my son and daughter. These RDNA2 cards worked so well (performance wise for the price) and have been totally trouble-free driver wise (no problems playing the buggy warhammer 3 on the the first day!) - we have been totally impressed (I wish that I could have got one then). Therefore I would imagine that the RX6600 or RX6600XT would both be very good and tend to be a bit less expensive than the nvidia equivalents.

I went and ordered the xt, like you say the rtx/gtx cards or the same power level was higher in price, and tbf I do prefer AMD GPU’s.

I did spend £60 more than I needed for a card with a better cooler.
