Eclipse Internet.

I switched from a very stable 1mb connection to that rubbish maxAdsl and after about 4 weeks of teething problems i'd settled down to a nice 2.5mb connection. (i live out in the sticks so i'm happy with that). Lately i have been what i thought was capped to 1mb, but after checking my Eclipse thing...they have me locked on 1152kbs  yet i'm connected to the exchange at over 2800kbs  now i'm paying £25/month for a quicker upload....no way hozay....MAC requested. Been with them nearly 4 years also

Does it show "Current Line Rate" as 1152Kbps?

If it does, that's got absolutely nothing to do with Eclipse and everything to do with your line and BTWholesale.

my router shows ~2824, my eclipse console on eclipse's page shows 1152kbs altered 05/07/06.

I am been throttled by Eclipse and this has no relevance to BT wholesale at all.

Did you try to resolve the problems with them before just packing up and leaving?

would you have done ?

this is the same company that said it was my router that was causing me to have problems with adslmax and asked me to go and buy a new one. told them in no uncertain terms what i thought of their mickey mouse operation.

Not necessarly, now grow up and have an adult conversation with their support to resolve it.

Simple isn't it.

The figure shown there is your BRAS profile. Your BRAS profile is set by BT Wholesale. It has every relevance to BT Wholesale.

What's probably happened is that you haven't been syncing consistently at the speed you are now and that at some point you've dropped down to between 1152Kbps and 1728Kbps and you've been dropped to the lower BRAS profile (by BTWholesale) Unless you consistently sync at the higher speed for a number of days (usually 3) the BRAS profile will stay at the lower value.

Do you have any router stats/has the line been dropping very often?
