i've made my mind up, eventually

yea i hope i haven't made a big mistake, it's simplistic but also very stylish.

it's a stylised version of a Lian Li, but i cant tell for sure until i stare at it tomorrow, but to me it looks like a masterpiece, i'm so excited about this

I'm a bit puzzled why there is a side fan mount BEHIND the motherboard tray? How would you fit a fan in there and what possible purpose would it serve? Doesn't look like there's much in the way of dust filters either.

i wont see that from where my pc is, but yea that sidemount fan on the rear face does look stupid, i doubt anyone will ever use that.......... plus i've never owned a pc case with proper dust filters, so that doesn't bother me either.

i make my own dust filters out of Stockings :D

oh my God the case is beautiful, i'm stunned to see it, it's the best PC case i've ever seen, it's black with a very light peppery non smear coating, a bit like what you see on a non- stick frying pan......a beautiful roughish satiny finish..... it doesn't show fingerprints

but you should see its front door trim, it's not a bright red like the photos, but a mid red, the front panel is beautiful brushed aluminium with only a finger touch to open the small drive bay door, it has a thin red pin stripe around it ...........WOW

the roof vent grill is stiff and shiny with a very high quality perforation. the side window is dark but so sexy looking.

the inside is very plain and very functional, simplistic and tidy, with a lovely floor vent for an extra fan if you need it............the fans look rubbish, but they always are aren't they.... it's about an inch longer than my Phanteks and much roomier inside.........same height

my white Phanteks is right beside it and the InWin looks much better, oh wow i'm shocked to see it

Normally to provide cooling to the back of the CPU socket.

it wont be assembled for some time because i'm waiting for the skinny roof fans......the thin Megahalem Vortex ones..

but, when you remove the two lower cages to expose the intake fans, it has a Fixed panel that's pop riveted to the floor and to the roof cage above, it's close to the GPUs and facing towards them as well, that needs drilling out tomorrow...dead easy, i hope !

when that's gone, there's clear space from the back panel right up to the front fans......BRILLIANT, so this case will look really nice inside if you decide to leave the side panel off, because the remaining roof cage looks good....plus it will have really good cooling.

packaging is good and there's not much of it, plus the instruction book is pretty basic as well. the photos in the link above aren't right, they dont show it's speckled non slip frying pan case, whatever you'd call it,

it's not Aly it's old fashioned steel  the side panels are quite stiff and have quite complicated mounting flanges on the inside around the window, the window attaches to these.

BUT i couldn't remove the inner panel without a lot of work, you cant get to the pop rivets with a large drill so i had to cut it out with a hacksaw, the case has been sprayed after assembly, so this left bare metal areas....

the whole inside had to be resprayed black and i'll have to use soundproofing too, but it still looks great inside

finally, the front 140 fans aren't screwed in place, they're held in place with latches, but luckily the new phanteks fit ok without vibrating..you can remove the front fans instantly once those lower cages are removed, plus the whole front panel comes off like the Phanteks.

i had to mod the phanteks case too, to shift the front 140mm fans closer to the GPUs, but nothing like this, the case is now massive inside with everything stripped out.

cooling will be about the same as the Phanteks.

dont buy this case if you dont like to mod things.... because that vertical panel looks dreadful

It has no front filter, so you'll have to make one, these guys are pretty dumb .... even so it's not exactly a problem because the other side of the fan mounting face is dead flat, i've used the front filter from the Cooler Master Silenco and just modded it.

The slim megahalem fans look really nice in the roof.... no LEDs here because it'll spoil the look.

these guys have made a few elementary errors, but it's hardly surprising because their other cases look totally Whacky, this case looks a bit Oddball too, but it's saved due to it being so damned gorgeous.

i've got photos for you tomorrow

Here are the photos, the 2nd one shows the case after i'd removed the inner panel and resprayed it......new Phanteks LED fans, it now has loads of room inside, the side window shows just how strong the case is..

i've downgraded the InWin to 8.5 out of 10, it's easily the best looking case i've seen, but is a bit of a sod to work on plus they've made a few errors -

cons:-

1.........the replacement front fans only just fitted, thanks to those stupid latches
2.........no front filter, this needs to be made by you....unless you buy something from here
3.........roof vent filter is totally lame........just remove it
4.........silly inner panel which is really hard to remove, EVEN FOR ME !
5.........NOT SURE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF ITS PAINT JOB

good points:-

1......looks beautiful, it's styling is almost perfect, whoever designed this has got a lot of flair
2......big inside
3......strong as a Bull
4......great ventilation
5......side panels come off really easily
6......loads of room behind mobo
7......massive floor vents if needed
8......very nice upper cage
9......very clever front door panel
10.....case is very wide

Nice case Mal, but if you want to display the images in your post. Use the img tags on photobucket. As long as the pics are no larger than 1280 pixels wide your good to go.

i removed that horrid honeycomb plastic from the Phanteks roof vent, it looks miles better now, the Megahalems only needs one fan, which is not bad for 4.8 to 5.0, you'll notice the front two phanteks 140mm fans are not on the front panel !!!!!!!!! but 5'' closer to the GPUs and this makes a massive difference, they're attached to the vertical inner panel

the Phanteks never has the side panel on and i think it looks miles better without it, but it has too many different fans.............phanteks in the front, Enermax on the rear and the rest are Corsair, it looks a bit messy, but at least it runs cold even in the heatwave last summer

people go on and on about these big huge multi fan tower coolers and to be honest it's garbage, just get any decent cooler, spend an hour lapping it dead flat, do the same to the CPU and that's it.................you'll kill the temps easily

but nothing looks quite as nice as the Asus 970s in combination with Megahalems black, they go together so well.............dead quiet too, even with the side off..........fans at only 50% .......65% in the summer

good, but post in here what you think, because i'm not that fussy if i have to mod something, so my review might be a bit too bias in favour of it..

just take care of that inner panel if you decide to remove it, because it's a hell of a lot of work....

the In-Win has a sort of non stick gritty peppery finish, but it looks like in the factory that's it's picked up dirt and paint overspray, i first noticed this today, the case roof looked blotchy under a strong light.

what i've done is to apply car polish Auto Glym to it and burnished it like mad, it looks great now, an even semi-shine all over ;) this will probably have to be done quite often.....but this is the roof and rear panel only.

BUT i've noticed that the paint chips off easily, especially the side panel with the window, i'll keep an eye on this, because this is a deffo deal breaker
