Iviv's OC thread

I kinda feel like a muppet for having been running it at stock for a year :D

Well actually, it was overclocked when I first got it. Then the heatsink fell off and temps rose around 10C after refitting it, so I had to remove the OC.
I had it at 380FSB and it froze while running prime95. would that just be from a lack of voltage as well? If so, I should be able to get up to 400.

From 3.4ghz to 3.5v usuualy needs quite a voltage boost, and then even more to get to 3.6ghz.

Up your FSB voltage by 0.1v too.

Okie, I'll try upping the voltages, but the FSB voltage I have at auto. (I assume this is the FSB termination voltage). What should that be set to at default, as my BIOS doesn't tell me what the default/auto values actually are.
Also, sorry for being a nubcake, since I didn't realise what the C1E you were talking about was, even though its right there in my screenshot. Turning it off, and pushing some more volts into it now, here's hoping for the 400FSB

The lowest FSB voltage setting should be the default setting.

Stick it on about 0.1v higher that whatever that is.

Well, I've been bluescreening with almost every error under the sun (Just had a bad pool header) on 380FSB, with Vcore up to 1.45

The lowest FSB voltage was 1.2 so I've set that to 1.3. Also disabled the C1E.

Vcore now at 1.4625 (And its gone from being a pink colour to red, persumably meaning danger :3 )
Edit: Just had a REGISTRY_ERROR bluescreen. Do I still need more power, or have I hit a ceiling?

I've not managed to boot into windows with it, though I only tried it with 380FSB. Should I keep upping the Vcore all the way to 1.5V, keeping that 380FSB?

Yeah go on ahead. Just keep an eye on your temps.

If you've still no luck then try it with only two sticks of memory.

Will do. Though out of interest how would it be a problem with the memory? Wouldn't something have shown up earlier?
(Now trying 1.3850)

Ah, thanks. Made it into Vista on 1.4850 (should have been 1.4 in the prev post) but it BS'ed after a couple of mins. 1.5 is the next stop :3

1.5 threw up a bluescreen as well so I turned the PSU off, removed the new 2Gb of ram and turned it on. No signal. replased the graphics card, nothing. replaced the ram, nothing. So I'm posting this with the battery in my hand.

EDIT: Nope, still no signal. There's an LED on the graphics card that flashes when its turned on, and thats still working, so it not completely dead. But I'm not sure what else to do T_T

Edit2: Brain fart moment, everything is ok. Still, I've decided to stick with 1.3875V and 375FSB. Its basically a 1Ghz overclock, and thats enough for the moment. Thanks a million Cob for all of your help :)
