Ivy Bridge...How much?

The other good thing is the recent exchange rate trend.

The 3770k is better than the 2700k fact... so why at the moment would you pay more for the 2700k than the 3770k will be?

The 2700k can be had for £240, the 3770k looks to be coming in at £250, why would you pay more for 3770K when it will offer no real world advantage and gimped over clock potential due to temp issues which seem to be worse on the i7 iB.

Still looking very much like i5K £170 and i7K £250 to me - maybe then a tenner off if you hang on for a few weeks.

The Z77 MBs seem to be a tenner down at the moment so thongs are looking good!

...roll on the sandybridge price drop "please" I hung on with my old AMD waiting for Bulldozer release so I could buy a Phenom II at knock down prices... and they became very rare, very expensive, VERY quick!

I've switched to Intel ...gone a little higher up the price band looking at a 2500k with the hope that I'll see a price drop on Ivy release :( but Ivy seems to be flopping for the enthusiast end of the market; is a 2500K/2600K suddenly going to become more prized and start inflating as stock draws down?

I'm considering jumping ship as well to be honest. I'm going to wait and see what Vishera brings first though. If its rubbish, IB would hopefully come down by then a bit.

Let me clear some stuff up

Gibbo -

I do not work for any of your old haunts (i don't mean that nasty ok)
The RAM is Corsair Vengeance and 8GB @ 1600
Mobo is a Gigabyte Z77
This was bought in the UK and paid via a debit card (no favour or flavours here)
It's currently on my test bench under a custom WC setup.

All Ivy's are dropping. I7 has already droped £50 to same as what I7 2600K was a few weeks ago at one place online

rofl.. that's what i meant in my post above but only dared hint towards it so as not to get in trouble for pushing business else where :)

I did not mention the company and would still buy from OCUK as not sure why a company would sell before the NDA has lifted :)

Yeah, that etailer looks extremely shady. No pics of the boxes and promotional images that are very low resolution...

I'll be sticking with a trusted seller!
