What has happened to ivy bridge i3 chips last news I heard they were due to come out in June.

More importantly will there be a "K" series i3 this time allowing for some overclocking?

I think Intel is missing a trick at the budget end of the market with a clockable i3

Intel is playing it smart. Even without a K chip people still reccomend others to buy i3s instead of AMD processors that are overclockable. So in the end this works out better for Intel. If you want more performance, they want you to pay for it.

CPU world's website has changed the IB i3 launch date to 2nd Sep, so Intel has delayed the launch (yet again).

I'm guessing Intel is delaying the launch so they can shift more SB i3...since they got no competition from AMD in that price range.

It's not unusual for the large system builders like Dell and HP to get OEM chips before they are generally available due to the quantities they purchase.

yeah aint seen any new i3s dont think there out yet.... see them in laptops but dunno if there the new versions, could be old stock.

Anyone know any information about it? A few sites say it is launched but I cannot find a shop selling it, nor any information on the Intel website. Whats going on?

Nothing very interesting there apart from the Pentium G550T at $42. Maybe it might get a lower price here than the celerons 530 or 540.

It's a pain in the hole that Intel are adding sandy bridge CPUs under the 3XXX naming scheme. Can't they keep any way consistent for even two generations?

Looking at the list above...interestingly, the Pentium G555 and G645 seems to be effectively rebadged Pentium G630 and G850, but with a even lower price than the current already ridiculously low price! $64 and $54...that would make both CPU at well below £50!

The Pentium G2120 however seems to be a i3 2100 with no HT.
