IVY BRIDGE upgrade to the next CPU?

Hi im thinking of getting a new PC whats all ready built with Ivybridge and all parts all ready put together. Say i had a Sandy bridge CPU in the motherboard now and wanted to miss Ivybridge and buy the next CPU after IVYBridge do you think these new CPU will fit the motherboard whats got the Sandy Bridge in. Im asking because like i say im wanting to buy Ivy now and miss the next new CPU and may even the one after and then buy the 3rd gen after Ivy. How long can you upgrade CPU be for you have to buy a complete new PC?.

Lukewhitworth i no for sure ivy or even sandy will not fit in my mobo now what i have has its a Asrok P43de q6600 775 socket. I just wanted to no how much i could upgrade when i buy a new PC with Ivy.

Thanks Sheza i did not no that i might actualy wait for the new mother boards now and haswell CPU if you can not upgrade above ivy.

Thanks for the advice guys will buy an brand new ivy bridge PC when they come out all ready built in a pc as im no good realy at building my own. At least its is the top of the range stuff of this socket 1150.
