Currently im running a i5 3570k with xfire 7950 and im looking to build a new rig to make my current set up a second pc. I'm tempted to go i7 this time around and people are saying haswell like to run hot so i'm just looking on some advice and set ups people are running and temps .

either the 3770k or 4770k and I will be going with a h100i+.

I live in a flat above a sunbed shop so temps in house can get canny warm hence the reason I don't fancy a hotter running cpu.

Haswell is a bit hotter running than ib, but both chips only run warm when stress testing. In normal use such as games theyre no hotter than any other intel cpu. Ive owned both a 3570k, a 3770k but now on haswell. Both of my ivy chips hit about 64c max in games at 4.5ghz, current 4770k is at stock and the highest temp ive seen yet in games is 57c. Cooler on all chips was an alpenfohn k2 air heatsink.

just drop in a i7 3770k and save your money nothing in it between that and hasswell.

no game differences between the two just loads of wasted cash.
