Ivybridge price?

I agree, I cannot see Ivy being less than Sandy, and I've never seen the 2700k for that price! I have a new system bar the CPU. I am now tempted to get a Sandy as I'm impatient even though Ivy very close.

Wierd, why would you include prices without VAT, just confuses guys like me :) Yes I am going for a full system upgrade all but the PSU and I am fighting off the temptation!

My PSU and GPUs are still in my current system. My new system is sat there just waiting for these parts to be added - installed the motherboard / ram etc today and even started tidying initial wiring.

Ivy might see a lot of second hand Sandys appear as people upgrade, so that is an option. Problem is I don't have access to members market as you need an awful lot of posts for that.

Im going to grab an i7 and see if they revise IB if the heat thing is true. And then upgrade to that if it turns out to be a better overclocker etc. Or Ill just keep using SB until the one after Haswel :P

I see your point, one thing putting me off early Ivy is the thought they might bring out a better stepping. Still, I will hold out for Ivy reviews before doing anything.

I'm fighting the urge to drive into town tomorrow and picking up a 2500k. However, I know that is a bit stupid. I've waited a long time to upgrade, I can wait a few days more.

ahah I only built the rig Im using now a year ago... but the graphics card Im using has gone a bit dodgy and I got a BSOD the other day. So Im using it as an excuse to upgrade to SB/IB :)
