Hi guys.

Running my 2600k at 4.5GGHz along with 16GB or RAM and a P8P67 board.

Would I see any benefit at all from upgrading to an Ivybridge system?

I use my PC for SWTOR, BF3, music ripping and media serving.

PCi-E3.0 support, but you have a P67 board so that wont work.

HD4000 GFX, but you have a P67 board so that wont work.

All in all, its a **** side step for you.

To be fair, Ivy has been hyped up a lot in recent months. I guess it's just testament as to how good the Sandybridge chips are.

Some times shiney kit syndrome just gets the better of you, & all common sense goes right out the window. :p

I recently had a case of "shiny kit syndrome", but I recognised it as such, and ended up with an 2500K.

Mind you, I was switching from AMD, so I think the illness was slightly more justified ;).

Not me, its a useless waste of money if you have a Sandybridge.

Is yours one of the ES/Hong Kong retails? If so it may be worth selling it ands getting a proper retail chip as they seem better than those for sale before the actual release date.
