K I figured I'd go back to MW2 earlier today to see how well the new local connection setup is working and if lag is fixed, but it went through all of the the PING searches with no results. The PING went well above what it used to find games at (165) before I just gave up because the lag would just be unbearable.
I avoided the "Stimulus" DLC because I think it was and still is overpriced for what it is, and I've been playing more BC2 than MW2 recently. Now I doubt very much that my connection has suddenly got really bad.
Has IW, in incorporating the Stimulus DLC into the normal playlists, essentially blocked anybody who doesn't have it from joining any servers? It seems it doesn't let me connect because every server it checks has the DLC enabled.
Now I can see it won't affect the die-hard IW fans, but for me its a real low move for IW, either I spend £15 5 maps, two of which I've already paid for, or I don't and the £40 I spent on the game in the first place was a waste.
Is that actually what's happened? And if it is surely there's some form of either Xbox Live term or law which means its illegal, as it essentially nullifies an advertised part of the game (the multiplayer) unless I pay for a map pack which was not described in any sales contract as being a subscription based service (IW multiplayer, not Xbox live)
