I am reposting this in the right catagory in the hope that it will get more responses and solve my problem...
I have a IX38 quadgt and ever since removing my graphics card and putting a new hard drive in, the board gets stuck on post code 9.0 during boot and gets no further.
I have tried two different graphics cards and outputting to a vga monitor but still to no avail.
I have tried flushing the cmos and even removing the cmos battery and psu to make sure it is cleared, whilst clearning cmos using the jumper switch on the main board.
I have tried a plain vga graphics card
I have tried reseating all of my ram, and changing the amount and the slots that they are plugged into.
I have tried reseating the CPU.
I have also tried removing all the hardware apart from the CPU and hard resetting the cmos again but still sticks on 9.0
Randomly, when there are hard drives connected, the post code passes C2 and C3 before sticking on A1.
C1 :
Detect memory
-Autodetection of DRAM size, type and EEC
-Autodetection of L1 cache (socket 7 or below)
C3:
Expand compressed BISO code to DRAM
and then A1 is not listed in the manual >.<
but I found:
A1 = Finished Intel memory configuration and testing code going into ClockGen
Have just gone back to double check and is now sticking on 9.0 and gets no further.
I cannot replicate this A1 error though, and is currently sticking on 9.0
I really need my computer for work sadly this laptop does not suffice for what I need to do.
Could somebody please help me?
I've been looking at similar issues and have just ordered a new BIOS chip to see if replacing that works as it has been suggested that it is fried or corrupted, but the pc is < 1 year old and I bought it from overclockers.

I'm not sure this matters as it still hangs on 9.0 after I've disconnected all the hardware minus the CPU but here it is anyway

Please help or share knowledge of issues that this motherboard has.
