J&W IP35 Pro, what's with the 8 pin PSU connection?

What power supply do you have, I assume you only have the 4 pin!

Check the manual you may be ok with only the 4 pin, I could not see any adapters on
Overclockers.

Yeah I have a 4 pin, it doesn't say anything about using a 4 pin on it in the manual. I checked my new PSU in my main rig which is a Corsair HX620 and that is 4 pin aswell, am i missing something here?

Just plug the 4-pin in to one side of the 8-pin. It will only fit one way and that will work just fine.

I think it's extra power for stability when overclocking ect.

Your Corsair should have 8 pin power connector.

Rob

It just allows 2 12V connections instead of one. It shouldn't make any difference whatsoever to the overclocking potential.

e-peen? But seriously > Probably a newer atx standard I would think, a bit like the 8 pin connectors on newer graphics cards.

the corsair psus do have the 8pin mobo power connector. i saw a review of a board think it was a gigabyte one that manage to pull enough power fromthe 4 pin cable that it ended up melting the plastic over it and melted part of the 4 pin power connector socket. 8pin is probably safer to use now since it spreads the load over more cables so less chance of meltage.

the corsair 520hx and 620hx deffo have the 8pin connector, i have both a 520 and 620w and they both have that 8 pin connector, now that i recall i think even my corsair 450w has that 8 pin connector too.
