Turbo and wastegate is what you're thinking of I think

Utterly utterly cool.
All the rwd drifters can just hang there heads at that, they all got pwned, BIG TIME!

How much bhp you reckon that putting down at the wheels Penski?

It's 750BHP at all four wheels.

Drifting a 4WD car is like kissing your Sister though - it might be the same, but it sure as hell doesn't count.. :p

Damn nice motor tho and great skills :)

****, thats a tad of a lot.

I would reckon drifting 4wd takes more skill than rwd. Rwd is plain old rear pushing the back end around pendulum style - 4wd is making the points of inertia and equilibrium of the car go whoop ass crazy!

Aye....

Don't quote me on that quote tho :p

I don't know where I heard it but it's always stuck with me, in some circumstances I expect it's quite easy to drift a 4x4, with enough power behind it.

As you say, drifting 4WD is more about weight transfer than countersteering or balancing on the throttle, probably more similar to FWD 'drifting' than anything. May be why the Audi shows so many snap left-to-right combinations.

Maybe because 4WDs have a tendancy to understeer and all you have to do is boot them to get them going sideways...not sure, never tried. I guess stability of a 4 wheel drive powertrain aids in control too.

I don't normally see the point in these drift vids, but that's by far the best post that I've seen.

 @ ~2:20.....

Penski, Thank You! Never before have you posted a thread more worth looking at.

I loved the sound of hearing that beast bonce off the rev limiter mixed in with the turbo whisteling away. Phenomenal power.

Him on the Dyno is awesome, it sounds steady.....steady.....then WOOOSH!!!! Turbo kicks in, the whole care lifts and propels lots of horsies to the wheels.

God im going to watch them all again
