jaguar x type - opinions?

hi lads,
last year i inherited a bmw 728i , and i have enjoyed the car immensely, however it is a large vehicle and at my new job i have limited parking space and find it too big for my needs as it is only me in the car most of the day. Anyway a friend has offered me an attractive deal on a '02' reg jag x type 2.5 which seems a more suitable size, bearing in mind that my budget is roughly £7,000 does anyone have any alternative suggestions or opinions on the jag?

ok lads, im aware of the mondeo roots the jag posesses, it doesnt bother me, but im open to suggestions, i have looked at the 2001- 'angel eye' e39 5 series and looks good but the diesel (which looks the pick of the bunch) is out of my range, leaving the 520i or 525i, what kind of performance or mpg could i expect from these engines, also i do roughly 60 miles a day so i would like a nice bit of comfort.

sorry double post, but draeger, how do you find the 2.0 performs, does it feel underpowered? and what kind of mpg do you return?

thanks again for the tips, took a friends (53) mondeo out for a spin earlier (ghia trim) nice motor but just lacks a little something in terms of interior, yes i am 18 nickxx but seem to have a taste for old man's cars, or so my friends say!
