Jailbreak iOS 5.1 - A4 devices

limerain exploit on a4 device will always be open so a tethered jb will always be availiable, you lucky people! To be honest once my phone is setup completely i can go weeks without shutting down so a tethered wouldn't bother me too much.

I'm waiting for untethered. I never turn off my phone, but the scenario that bothers me with tethered is if I'm somewhere with access to a charger but not my computer, and the battery runs out before I can get to the charger. E.g. staying in a hotel, or staying with someone who doesn't want me installing random software on their computer to start my phone!

Same here, hopefully it won't take too long for untethered

That I can completely understand. It really is different for everyone. I generally have my macbook pro with me daily anyway so could always boot it if required. If I don't then im either at mine or my girlfriends so again not an issue to do so.

I did tethered for a while and although the inital setup with cydia tweaks is a pain when it requires a reboot its fine afterwards

Back on track a bit, you A4 guys will likely see the untethered well before we A5 people see one at all :(

never jailbreaked an idevice before went to try it on my iPad today only to find 5.1 had been put on my iPad :( been looking around to see if it was possible to restore/downgrade to 5.0.1 but not had much luck :(

Hopefuly it wont be to long as I think 3 people have managed to do it already! :D:D:D:D

This I completely agree with - it's caught me out before where my car's bluetooth caused my phone to lock up so I was screwed.

However, the 5.1 tethered JB is different. If you power the phone off then on again or reboot it, it will still boot except Cydia etc won't be available. This way you're not stuck with a totally useless phone until you can boot it with a PC again. While it's of course still not as good as an untethered JB, it's workable and I can deal with it.
