Jailbreak question - SMS Tones

This may of very well covered but when searching for terms to do with the iPhone so much comes up its hard to know where to look.

Basically, If I was to Jailbreak my iPhone4 and change one of the SMS/Message tones to something I want, when Apple release the next update if I was to download and install it would my phone continue to work as per normal before being Jailbroken (it was a SIM free phone) albiet witht he customised sound. Or would it brick my phone/change the sound back to default.

If you update it via iTunes it will likely put back to how it was pre-JB. At least that's how it was a while back. It may certainly have changed since then.

it will block the jailbreak and all things you can achieve from a jb, so dont bother with that new 4.0.2 update as its just a JB remover.

Okies, Cheers for the replies guys. I only wanted to change the SMS tone (wanted the MGS Alert sound) anyway so it seems to much effort for what it is all worth lol. Was worth asking though.
