Right, this one's annoying me and I won't let it beat me!
I'm trying to jailbreak my girlfriend's iPhone 3G, running iOS 4.2.1 and I'm getting no where.
I've tried redsn0w. I've tried greenpois0n. I've tried PwnageTool.
None of them seem to want to work. I've also tried each on both my MBP and my PC where possible, and get the same issues on both platforms.
With redsn0w, I select the firmware file (auto-detect isn't working for 1st gen devices apparently), click jailbreak, put the phone into DFU mode, the software then promptly closes. This happens exactly the same on both OSX and Windows 7.
With greenpois0n, the software never seems to detect the phone in DFU mode, and just keeps repeating the instructions on how to put it into that mode.
I can't actually remember what happened with PwnageTool, but I do know it didn't work lol.
Any ideas guys? Really bugging me!
