James Van Der Beek - RIP :(

Don't remember him announcing he had bowel cancer around November '24, when he had been diagnosed the year before. Rip.

Awful disease and far too young. An interview he did regarding his health came up on YouTube a few months ago and he looked really ill/gaunt :(

My old man had bowel cancer a couple of years ago, thankfully an operation removed it but he now has a stoma bag as they couldn't reconnect the bowel due to how far down the cancer was.

Geez, life is too short. I loved Dawson’s creek and actually his other show with Kirsten Ritter call “That Bitch in Apartment 13” as well.

Rip

First thing that popped up and I read this evening after getting home from my 2nd chemotherapy infusion session for the same type of cancer and in fact similar case, although hopefully hasn't spread past a few lymph nodes, which were all removed  . Took my mind off of the side effects at least which are worse than round 1 in that minor side effects seem worse this time.
Life is short, and unpredictable. I'm not much older and hadn't even received the bowel screening kit yet, and retired early just over a year earlier to enjoy "many healthy years". Yeah, that went well :D.

Bowel cancer is (apparently) slow growing.
I'd say if you have a decent income getting a colonoscopy at about 45 isn't a bad idea.

Many people spend that on car finance in a few months.

Its highly treatable in early stages. And the rate cases are increasing? It's not a waste of money

I have had one done privately due to some serious bowel issues I had a couple of years ago. Found nothing. But I have no regrets on the money spent.

Remember watching this on a Sunday morning hungover following a Saturday night partying; Very sad, and for me crazy to think he is actually a year younger than me. Cancer is an absolute ****!

I'm not even 40 and I paid for one as part of a full health check up to go with my work credentials. Definitely worth doing early on.

Ah that really sucks :( So sad hearing this news, that's no age at all :( ***k cancer, awful disease.

Occasionally I have to be certified to work so get some tests done that show I’m all good. About 6 months ago I had to go last minute and got heavily upsold at the hospital just by reading the brochures there. I paid just over £2000 but got fully std tested including for ones that don’t even need to be certified and aren’t detectable on standard tests, about 100 different bio markers via blood work for nutrition and hormones, and lots of other scans.

I came back surprisingly healthy, just had slightly elevated prolactin but I was going through a long term break up at the time and after a bit more testing, they put it down to stress and it had gone down by itself.

RiP, liked him in the few rolls i seen him in. watched my father died from the same cancer, it a hard way to go
