I have the above speaker setup in my lounge with an Onkyo amp, recently the centre speaker has started vibrating and cutting out when certain sounds are play through it usually struggling with quieter sounds.

I rang Richer sounds and they told me that they would need to send it off which would cost £40 plus any parts that needed replacing.

I am pretty sure a new centre speaker alone would cost that and so was wondering if i could repair it myself or indeed buy a new one from somewhere?

What do you think is wrong with the speaker?

Try one of the others in the center channel and see if it still does it to determine if its the amp or speaker.

Just tested it with a working satalite speaker and that works fine so i fear the centre speaker is broken or on its way out.

Anything i can do to fix this is it a common problem?

can you open the speaker? see if any loose connections? dont see why it would be maybe xover has had it in which case just replace the speaker.

I assume they arnt udner warranty?

No they arent under warranty and i cant see anyway off getting into it as there are no screw bolting it together.

I know i have read somewhere that people try and repair these themselves and its known as being 'burnt out'

Thanks for that i am currently watching that on Ebay at the moment so will probably buy that if i cant find anyway of repairing it myself.
