Was thinking of building a new computer after Christmas. Are there going to be any new processors and graphics cards then?

I searched on Google but couldn't seem to find anything other than rumors. Do you think there would be a single GPU that could be able to play 4k by then?.

Cheers

As stulid said new ranges of GPUs and CPUs may be around by then (CPUs maybe later on in the year).

As for a single card handling 4k I think were a few generations off that yet. As mentioned the 295x2 is your best bet. At the moment they are at a decent price point too. Either that or the cheaper alternative is 970 SLI..

Computer components are always coming out with new versions. The new nVidia GPU range has just come out, so probably a good time to get them would be after Christmas once the prices have dropped slightly.

I wouldn't bank on GPU prices dropping, with the deal OCUK are currently pulling off, I don't see it going lower than what they are now especially so close to being released and it being a brilliant price.

I think the only thing that could push a price point is if AMD blow everyones mind with the 300 series in terms of performance or price.

I upgraded my PC a month or so ago with a view to getting Broadwell next year. Now all I need is to swap in the new CPU. So many bargains flying about it was silly not too I just took my time grabbed a few specials etc and bing-ala-bong. Although Skylake wont be long after that not sure whether its okay with Z97 1150.

Hmm. It looks like I will have to go with a multi GPU setup for 4k after Christmas then!. I could probably have fun with water cooling then though!.
