January Transfer Rumours

Well.....money talks, i think he'll move.......for somewhere in the region of £5m-8m

I believe he's a big a Liverpool fan and we've already offered £3m, so will surely bump the offer if needs be.

We could have had him over the summer for 2.5m, but Rick Parry said he was only worth 750k.. :rolleyes:

We should have done a lot over the summer but nothing really appeared. Figo left us in the poo, though we did get Reina :D

Thankfully Rafa should sort the much needed positions over jan. We should have mark with us as chilie now have the correct rankings. I'm excited as to who he'll buy. With bolo out we need backup.

Think Gonzalez cant play until summer, because you can only appeal a work permit once every 12 months of something
 
I dunno how much we would make from winning the world club champs, but perhaps the reason we are taking it so seriously is for a bit of extra prize money and possible sponsors to boost our january kitty? If that is the case, then hopefully there should be a bit in the coffers tucked away. Everyone at liverpool seems to think that signings will be made, perhaps our performance in the WCC will provide an indicator of who.
 
I seem to remember reading that is was worth about £2M to us if we won it but there where no estimates to what it was worth commercially.

I just want to see us bring in a centre half really as we have no real cover at that position.

Most interesting rumour I read was "Goalkeeper Antti Niemi is set to leave Southampton for Charlton in a £1.5m January transfer window deal. (The Times, Daily Express)".
 
Heard a strong rumour Valencia have been sounding out Julio Arca. He is going out with a local girl though so this may be the only hope of him staying. Definitely think he'll leave if MMc gets the sack though and it's not as if he doesn't deserve too

Maybe he has more ambition than the men in charge of the club , Im surprised he has stayed this long.
Does he still live in Newcastle?
 
The prize pot for the tourny is $15m :eek: Dunno how much each position gets,but we should get a fair wedge just for turning up :)

That would be peanuts tho compared to what we could rake in from spin-offs if we do well though,esp with it being Japan

6 teams in the comp.Liverpool and Sao Paulo get byes into the semi final stage.Other 4 teams have play offs (already played) to get into semis.

Semis are :-
Liverpool vs Deportivo Saprisa
Sao Paulo vs Al Ittihad
(SPaulo have got through to the final by winning 3-2 this AM )
 
Milan are ment to be signing Lugano who plays in the Brazillian league. Ment to be very good.
Vieri is rumored to be off loaded.
Cassano in.
Bids for Alex, Kompany, Cris & Réveillère also rumored.
De Jong & Nelson also rumored to be a targets.
And Chivu.
Abbiati to be swapped for Zebina.
Also, end of season swoop for Toldo is expected as well.
 
Bayern have signed a Paraguyan kid called "Dos Santos". German press call him Ballack's successor, so I guess Ballack is off to somewhere this summer.
