The first Arsenal match I watched as a fan was when he scored that hatrick in 5 mins or something crazy like that. That was the only and LAST time I watched an Arsenal match with my cousins. They are all Liverpool fans and I was just a youngster then but boy did they rub it in :(

I have never liked him since then

He has returned :D and long may they rub it in :D

I'm not sure if it's a good mover for 'pool, I have the feeling it could destroy the way 'pool fans feel God.

There'll be a few who are expecting miracles who will almost certainly end up disapointed, but i think most (well me at least :) ) just think its 'right' that he gets a chance here again, and the club gets a chance to to make up for the way he was treated by GH,so it's hard to be dissapointed football wise when your not expecting anything anyway. We've paid nothing for him,and it could only be for 6 mths so i cant see how the club could lose out too much from this, but its just possible that we could gain so much. The 6 mts wages will prob be covered by shirt sales by the weekend,so thats not a prob. And just how much would i love to be there the next time we play at Anfield ? :D

it will go nuts when Fowler comes out of tunnel/off the bench the first time he plays back in the shirt id love too be there just for that.Hes a Liverpool legend.

Fowler will be a good signing, he will put so much effort in it's unreal, true heart, passion and soul for Liverpool.

I was annoyed when Liverpool sold him (even as a Man Utd fan) because I thought he was a better striker than Owen =/.

A poor mans Michael Owen.

Ask any older 'pool fan and they will tell you:

Fowler> Owen

Main difference being Fowler is Liverpool through and through and Owen is more interested in playing for England.

As for the move itself, it all seems very sureal atm. really hope it works out for the lad.

I was gutted when we got rid and am glad he's back

Bang on, sooner or later michael will do the dirty on the geordies, i bet my bottom dollar he will stay out 'injured' longer than he really is, just to keep fresh for the national side(not that im complaining mind!)

Anyway if you are looking at the two players, fowler on paper is/was better, for owen to perform, the team always has to play in a certain way, if not he is utterly useless.Thats not the case with fowler.

Anyone know anything of this Victor chap Liverpool are linked with today?
I know he's a winger,is 29,has played for Real and............thats it.
Ever hopeful, but with him being 29 and me having not heard of him before.......

We were linked with him yesterday in a number of places.

VCTOR SNCHEZ DEL AMO

Squad Number 05/06: 18
Date of Birth: 23 February, 1976
Nationality: Spain (international from 2000 until now)
Contract: 1999 - 2006
Transfer: ca. 7,6 million (1.200 mln ptas) (1999)
Previous Clubs: Racing de Santander (1998-1999), Real Madrid (1995-1998), Real Madrid B
Buy out Clause: ca. 96,1 million (15.000 million pesetas)
Height: 182 cm
Weight: 77 kg
Position: Attacking Midfielder (right)
Real Madrid youth product VCTOR SNCHEZ made 65 appearances for the biggest and richest club from Spain and was a fundamental part in their Liga-winning team in 1997. But after three seasons in their first team he was asked to leave and the winger joined Racing Santander in 1998. He scored 12 goals for them in the season 1998/1999 and his performances convinced both Deportivo president Lendoiro and coach Irureta, resulting in a July 1999 transfer to Galicia.

Vctor Snchez is a very fast, skilful player who can play on both wings. But at Deportivo he has been a starter at the right wing and rarely was left out of the team in the past five seasons. His 'worst' season was the 2001/2002 one when he still played 29 Liga matches, and in total he has played more than 150 for Deportivo. In addition, he scores a good amount of goals per season (42 in the Primera Divisin) and always has been among the players with most assists in the Spanish Liga.

The player made his Spanish debut on 23 February 2000 and has since made six appearances in total for the national side. But his final one was in 2001 when he played during a friendly against Mexico, although new Spanish coach Luis Aragons may take him back. It is doubtful if he'll remain a Deportivo player by then because there are rumours every summer about possible moves away from the club. He had previously been rumoured to join Valencia's ranks, while the latest 2004 rumour linked him to Atltico.

The most famous anecdote about the winger, according to a rumour spread around La Corua, is that he had died in a car accident. Another one is that his father runs a bar in the centre of Madrid that always shows the matches Deportivo plays. Nothing false about this one though.

Liverpool poised to sign Victor
-------------------------------

Liverpool are reportedly close to signing winger Sanchez del Amo Victor from La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna.

Victor, 29, who has been pulled out of Deportivo's side for the game with Atletico Madrid, is expected on Sunday to discuss terms and have a medical.

The winger is expected to sign a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Liverpool have previously been linked with Seville winger Daniel Alves, Atletico Madrid's Luciano Galletti and Benfica's Simao Sabrosa.

Reds close in on Victor swoop

Liverpool are poised to follow up the capture of Robbie Fowler with the signing of Deportivo La Coruna winger Victor.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez has made no secret of his desire to bring in a winger during the January transfer window and had been linked with a host of names.

Benitez has seen moves for Atletico Madrid's Luciano Galletti and Benfica's Simao Sabrosa hit the rocks, prompting the Spaniard to switch his attentions across La Primera to Depor.

The Reds are close to striking an accord with Depor and Victor has not made the trip to Madrid for the weekend clash with Atletico.

Victor, who has recently returned to fitness following a thigh injury, is expected to head to Merseyside on Sunday to discuss terms and undergo a medical.

A three-and-a-half-year deal is set to be put on the table and Benitez will hope to wrap up the transfer before the window slams shut on Tuesday.

Victor has class in abundance, having turned out for Real Madrid in the past, and Benitez will hope the 29-year-old can add some attacking thrust to his side.

Reds eye Depor star
By Francisco Acedo - Created on 10 Oct 2004

Liverpool are understood to be lining up a move for Deportivo La Coruna star Victor.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez is a long-term admirer of the player, and sees the Spain international as the answer to the problem right side of midfield position at Anfield.

Benitez tried to sign the former Real Madrid star during his time at Valencia, but was frustrated by Depor's elevated valuation of the player.

However, with more spending power at his disposal now he is with Liverpool, a renewed bid for the 28-year-old looks likely when the transfer window reopens in January.

Benitez has already brought four Spaniards to Anfield since taking over, but an injury to winger Antonio Nunez has left him short of options on the right side of midfield.

Ironically, Benitez could well face competition from former club Valencia for Victor's services, with Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid also reportedly interested.

Despite being a regular for Depor, the Galician outfit could well be persuaded to part with their midfielder - who is under contract at The Riazor until June 2006 - if a sizeable offer comes in.

Boss Javier Irureta is thought to be lining up a swoop for Andres D'Alessandro and could use any proceeds from Victor's sale to fund a move for Wolfsburg's Argentine star.

For his part, Victor insisted he was fully focused on playing for Depor and claimed he was not thinking about a possible transfer.

"My objective at the moment is Deportivo and I do not want to think about other clubs," he stated.

"This is a matter for the clubs and does not involve me at this point."
