I’m not too worried about him. I think he’s happy now he’s a first team regular. He’s very young still, I’m sure he’ll be with us a few years yet.

3 years this summer. Contracted to summer 2025. He’s on £90k a week. If he carries on I expect us to open up talks soon. We’re shifting deadwood, so that will be a lot of wages freed up to boost key players contracts.

True, his official contract ends in 2024, but the club has the extension option. If it comes to summer 2024, arsenal can trigger the extension, so even if he wants to leave, we can still cash in because if he’s world class, clubs ain’t gonna sit around for a year waiting to get him on a free, they’ll compete with each other and pay through the nose.

I expect him to sign a new contract within the next year anyway. Once Auba’s £350k pw is off the books, him, Saka and ESR will be getting a very nice boost. Saka’s only on £30k a week currently.
