January Transfer Window 21/22

Ramsey to Rangers?? - How is that going to work from a wages point of view! Rumours of £400k a week at Juventus...

Also really quality window for United again - Lingard to sit around for another 6 months, Mata to keep the bench warm - brilliant.... Total stagnation...

juve are paying all his wages alledgedly the deal stinks how can it be legal for another club to pay all his wages

rangers basically get a player for free

I have a suspicion that saving in wages will be used to renegotiate the contracts of players like Martinelli and Saka. They’ll want to offer them around 150k a week each to tie them down

And sign our second American of the week. Disappointed we haven't yet had a #Trust-y The Process post on here yet.

Sounds like they're readying Arteta not being at the club at the end of the season and the new manager starting afresh

What has happened over the past three transfer windows is a comprehensive clear-out of the old guard and Arteta has been fully backed to reshape the squad in his own image. There have been mistakes such as Willian, and sub-par 'situational' signings like Cedric. However, what we witnessed in the summer was a comprehensive shift in transfer policy and the beginning of a cohesive squad-building strategy. We are now targeting players of the demographic that we should be in our current position - early 20s with progression or resale value, rather than expensive players at the tail of their careers. Harsh lessons have been learned.

The players Arsenal has allowed to leave this week, Aubameyang aside, were fringe players that had little value to Arteta's plans. I think all we are doing is putting in place the foundation for the summer window where Arteta gets the final piece(s) of his jigsaw, chiefly a striker that can achieve what he needs.

If we don't bring in anyone this evening, we are banking on not having a significant injury situation and being able to manage the remaining Prem games with a trusted core of players. The Vlahovic chase suggests money is available but it won't be spent frivolously on players that don't fit Arteta's model. Personally, I applaud that and finally the club are beginning to operate sensibly (while still clearing the mess of previous years).

I think a lot of non-Arsenal fans mistake Arteta's position at Arsenal and what he is attempting to achieve. Bar a catastrophe, he is not under any real pressure.

I think letting all those players go with none coming is a massive gamble. We have a decent first 11 but they are inconsistent due to their age and no backup at all.

Oh come on thats a stretch. If Arteta loses a few games on the spin Arsenal fans will be calling for his head....again.
Arsenal were woeful at season start and the board stuck with him. I'd agree with Rob, safe as houses atm. They're building a young, hungry squad from the ground up.

The fans werent though. Theres no chance he's as safe as the likes of Klopp.

Edit

I think he's safe atm the moment but not compared to those mentioned.

VDB to Everton on loan? Diallo gone on loan too

I thought there'd be some more movement too with Rangnick. Considering he's supposed to be taking the DoF role

Maybe those two were a bit of an exaggeration, but I’d say he was actually safer than Rangnick or Tuchel

Id argue hes a lot safer then both and one won a CL lol.

So Arsenal are contributing to Aubas wages until the summer...cant imagine its a lot though. They've done the right thing binning him off. He's clearly toxic and you simply cant have that at a club.

Carvalho and Diaz in the same window. Happy with that. Add a midfielder in the summer and we are set.
