Jap PS3

Ah thats not bad if thats the only difference, i dont mind importing the blu raymond thingys from the us.
It says 110volt on the site i was looking at, i thought it was open voltage 110-240v and it stepped it down itself. Any ideas anyone ?

Everything works fine. You get a Uk plug too iirc. Check the ps3 thread if you want in-depth answers.

It isn't officially acknowledged, but it is 110-240V capable.

A 60GB JAP one can be imported for about £335 delivered from a couple of sites, not too bad if the lovely Customs people decide not to charge you and even then it will probably still work out cheaper than the UK :D

being so close to launch now. Is a years warranty worth the 30-40 quid you will save tho?
Although i haven't heard many PS3 breaking stories.

I think its japanese consoles with japanese games that get censored, if you buy an american game then it bypasses the censoring. For resistence for instance all you have to do is load an american save file onto the (jap) ps3 and it makes the console think the games american original and it then has blood.

My jap ps3 was sent from tokyo yesterday and its already in london.

Clearance processing complete at London-Heathrow - UK as of: February 02, 2007 16:09

With some luck it could be out for delivery possibly tomorrow depending if it clears customs tonight and gets flown to the belfast depot. :)

^^^Another owner....\o/  What games have you got?

Well i ordered resistence from ebay, might also be with me tomorrow. Im liking the look of motorstorm as well though. heard a load of hype about it but racing games have never really be my thing, exceopt mario kart that is, but going from the vids it looks like it could be a good laugh.

Now im just hoping.

a, the console works.

b, updating it doesn't hose it.

c, i dont get bent over by customs.

Motorstorm is great but wait for the western version to be released in march tbh. I had the Jap version and it's really good but I long for the online play.

Resistance is a good game and way more real than it's rival (plenty of on-screen action similar to a war-movie all happening simultaneously) Try and do the save thing before you play.

I thinbk the console should work, there hasnt been plenty of breakdowns - This is Sony we are talkng about. They might be late in doing so and lie with their teeth but they dont build plasticky materials that require replacement every now and then.

Before you update, make sure you have enough electricity (if you use pre pay).

I got bent by customs but i just sent the damm thing back that i dont live there anymore and that was the end of it. (yes flame me). Mine was supposed to be Cash on delivery but they didnt do that so their fault not mine.

Enjoy your game (i hope you have a HD TV) Kill some alliens, and ride the dirt on motor storm...Oh ignore whatever anyone says about your purchase and your choice. And before i go the most important thing to do is add me and others when you set up you account..... :D

Going to order on sunday from superufo, anyone played the F1 game, looks quite good.

Mods trust thats not a competitor, if so delete please.

Hi, as I understand it the region of the game is irrelevant.

It checks the hardware during first boot and censors things if an Asian console is detected, the only way for Asian console owners to bypass this censorship is to use a save file created on a US console.

So basically the save file has to come from a US machine but it doesn't matter what the region the game is.
