I feel the need to pimp my friend's snaps as I think they're pretty nice work. No rules against that is there? Photos from a recent trip to Kyoto, Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka.

Whole album that you should check out is at Flickr

Pictures taken on "an old Olympus OM-1" film was Kodak 400CN for the B+W, cheap 200 - 800 for the colour.

Comments welcome!

There are some stunning photos in the collection but I think you've not shown the best in your post. There are too many good ones to mention but the architecture ones are superb (though a little repetitive towards the end).

The night shots are very noisy but I don't know anything about the equipment your friend is using. I think noise can be a good thing in those kind of shots but there's a bit too much for my liking.

From a composition point of view though I really do like them. Going to have another look through them now.

Yeah, I didn't intend to have to pick some to put in this thread :) Picked some semi random ones rather than try and pick what I thought I liked most.

Thanks for your comments.

Great shots, the last one is is definately my favourite, it looks great. The shots on flickr are also pretty nice, great shots :)

That first one looks familiar :D

Nice shots m8

looking through the set looks like your m8 had a good time, the summer festivals are great :) (shame there aren't any of the firework displays)
