Jason Bourne to return.

I enjoyed it...

But like I said the shakey cam was ridiculous. It got tedious TBH for me at least.

I also got a little tired of team A, B then C and then D and then E all simply walking into Bourne and being punched out. These are professionals?

And the computer wandavium... "Clean up image", somehow magically introducing more detail into a totally blurred photo... And of course typing "Override Encryption Algorythm" invariably makes the computer do magical stuff to achieve what ever they need :)

Agree on the over use of the shaky cam. However, plot device wise, Bourne is supposed to be a broken super spy, massively intelligent and with combat skills brain washed in. I liked the set pieces with other Treadstone agents with similar skill sets.

Technology wise, it would drag a bit if the IT team said "sure, we'll setup the supercomputer to crack this, will take a week or two to to config and probably a year or so to bruteforce" :D

Glad to see Bourne back. Not amazing films and huge amounts of cheese, but entertaining to watch

Shakey CAM overkill, didnt enjoy that. Car chase was too long.

Tommy Lee Jones Bores me to tears.....

Not as good as the others but still a 7/10

As I said in the other thread

Jason Bourne 7 or 8 /10
I'd need another watch to be sure.

Some unforgivable contrived gubbins were in evidence, and they lost the film points.
It got better as it went along, great set pieces.
But gah!
'Rewind that 20 seconds, go forward 2 seconds, enhance!'
Someone in scripting needs shot.
The scene wasn't improved by it.
There were two possible three of these stupid wtf moments, and thankfully they all happened earlier in the film.

I thought it was good, not amazing, just good.

It is better than a LOT of other action movies out there, if you are compare to them, Jason Bourne is near or at the top of the hill.

I just can't help but feel it wasn't necessary in terms of story.

Man this was rubbish/disappointing - direction was poor, but the screenplay was worse, in particular the characterisation of Bourne was way off, actually most of it was way off when compared to the original trilogy

Greengrass should never be allowed near a script - barrel-scraping from Ultimatum was the final straw...

ps3ud0

Oscar for shakiest shaky cam!

Man I need to offload, likely to be wrong on some points, but I got a definite vibe that they dont know what they were doing or just didnt care:

  • Ultimatum mechanic where he magically remembers a 'new' old memory (Dad carbomb versus Dr Albert Finney) that kicks off the whole point of the film even though the start of the film he says 'I remember everything'
  • Bournes fighting style wasnt similar to previous films, indeed the whole bare-knuckle boxing thing was completely out of character as previous films never portrayed him as violent for violence sake (particularly when off-radar)
  • Why was it seemingly easy for Nicolette to find Bourne?
  • Why yes Head of CIA Cyber Ops you seem to the best person to head up our manhunt to find and kill Jason Bourne, its not like in previous attempts where more qualified personnel failed might prove this decision stupid...
  • Very lazy script where the Head of CIAs Cyber Ops division is always hands on; same with the CIA director who seemingly has to get involved in running the op when she fails because of his interjections. When did NASA start lending out mission control for CIA ops?
  • In previous films, Agents were always instructed via text - at no point was there ever a discussion, nor would they attempt it where the Agent is on the same level as whoevers running the op - in this film that just kept on happening...
  • Supposedly the Agent is from the Blackbriar program, so why was he there back before Bourne was even in Treadstone? If thats just happenstance, then why is he aware of his life pre-Blackbriar?
  • Why were they giving CLI shells between each other? Get a better consultant for verbiage. I always make sure to label my Black Ops folder as 'Black Operations' - its tidy that way, especially with that filetree...
  • Are we really going to have the a service station moment for the third time? A second time where they have very similar dialogue? (c.f. Bourne and Nicolettes chat in Ultimatum where she alludes to them being a thing)
  • CIA director and Facebook bloke meet in a public place to discuss why they shouldnt be publicly associated in case people find out about their past dealings...
  • WhyTF do young tech geniuses seem to walk a lot out of/in buildings with an entourage - do they not know what meeting rooms are?
  • That SWAT van is the new face of the Fast and Furious enterprise
  • Why didnt Bourne kill the Head of Cyber Ops after he knew she will do the same if he doesnt return to the program? Is that really just a lazy way to leave the film open-ended for sequels?
I really could go on. Ludlums probably doing backflips as we speak...

Theres a film called Shooter with Marky Mark minus the Funky Bunch - its much better than this :/

Sorry, but these are some of the most overrated movies of recent years, it's all pretty dull, confusing and headache inducing the action scene are repetitive after the first movie and i can barely see what the **** is going on.

Overrated and underrated aren't actually real things.

6.9/10

I struggled with this film, i watched all the original 3 before going to see this and it really isn't a patch on those. I don't mind that they released the film though as it ties up a few things for the the character.

There was a scene near the end when Bourne was at the convention that was a hilarious. "Oh look! A real time tracking device, oh and a covert camera, how fortunate to find these essential spy tools"

Actually going to change this to a 4.

Just a bad film. At least the previous films was thought about with a dash of plausibility. This was just mediocre at best, I think its worse than the last one with that Renier chap. A shame as the first 3 are great.

I just got back, quite enjoyed it for what it was.

My enjoyment was enhanced by the convention being in the A.r.i.a hotel which is where I stayed a few months back in Vegas.

(Edit side note - why the hell is A.R.I.A filtered out OCUK?!?!?)

I saw this on Saturday and I found it a bit average to be honest, typical over the top action which I guess I just don't like any more. I liked the first two because the story was new and interesting, this time around it was just a bit boring. The car chase through Vegas was ridiculous as well.

It also had a classic "Enhance" that image moment, which a few people in the cinema laughed at.

Also, the Nicky Parsons character, some of her lines were delivered in such a weird way. I'm sure she's a good actress but she just seemed so stale when she spoke. Very odd.

4/10 for me.

Ha, I was at a convention the week after they filmed it and had meetings in the A'r'i'a. I was actually staying at the Mandarin of which I'm sure you had a teeny tiny glimpse as they sped off out of the A'r'i'a :p

Also, I don't understand the hatred for shakey cam. Almost everything is shot like that now, I don't even notice. I like the documentary style

Saw it Saturday and already forgot most of what happened in it, granted couldn't see that much due to the whole lets make everything shaky cam and random zoom in and out all over the place.

The last fight must rival Tak3n for the amount of quick cuts.

Imho is a good action film, bad Bourne film.

And as a software developer, the whole hacking was a joke,
putting me off during the duration of the film. Too stupid, only amateurs could make such mistakes or hacking the computer because there was a phone line in the room was over the top ridiculous....
