Java JRE 1.5 Problems with 81.98

If like me you've been tearing you hair out with problems with JRE 1.5 and newer Nvidia drivers please try this:-

Win XP

Try This:
1. Start->Control Panel->System
2. Click the Advanced Tab
3. Click the Environment Variables button
4. Click the New button
5. For Variable name:_JAVA_OPTIONS
6. For Variable value:-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false
OK...Ok...OK

before I was getting black screens, reboots and general horribleness from my system as soon as it tried to call anything java.
