Java problem

This is a slightly strange one. I downloaded the latest Java runtime Environment from their website, but now whenever I try to run a Java enabled program my computer screen goes blank and I have to restart.

It happens when I try to run Speedtests for my broadband, and on any website that requires the program.

It's beginning to annoy me now so any help is appreciated. Cheers

Now, thing is when I did the print screen I was seeing a black screen with only the Limewire application up, but the print screen has appeared to have shown what I couldnt see.

By the way I don't really use Limewire it was just to illustrate a point.

do you have an nvidia gfx card? try updating to the lastest drivers. there have been problems in the past with conflicting driver settings and java.
