Just a heads up for those of you with a bit of Java skill. Sun (or I guess Oracle now:p) are running a competition for "innovative" web applications developed using JavaFX. The top price is $25,000 but there's "special" prices for students too. Obviously I'll win first place, but why not have a go for the other places yourselves? :p:cool:

I've never used JavaFX, is it easy to pickup with Java knowledge and what's it meant to offer that Java doesn't?

Hi Rob, it's not too tricky to pick up. It's aimed at developing rich internet applications with "nice" graphics - so basically a rival to flash. Graphics in Java has always been a pain IMHO I think this is a decent attempt to try and improve it but it's still very immature.
