Not seen a thread about this, but for fans of the movie, it has been re-released in 3D and IMAX; I am off to see it this afternoon :D

The original Jaws is one of my favourite films of all time, but as I was born in 1975 I have never seen it on the big screen, always on TV or at home.

Yeah pretty good, original movie just jazzed up with 3D effects. One of the better 3D movies conversions i seen.

Will go and see it after I get back from holiday. No one seems keen to see it with me so I'll just have to go on my own.

I went last saturday to odeon lux stafford to watch Jaws 3D, it was very good. got the remasted avatar isense 3d book in for the 23th.

forgot to add this is the first time that Jaws (1) has been shown in 3d.

I went to see this last night. I've never been a fan of 3D and this didn't change my mind, but it's Jaws, one of the best film of all time, IMO.
I would have preferred a nice, clean, 4K restoration instead.

It's worth it mate imo. I forgotten how good it is and some the scenes fit in well with 3D.

Well I thought some parts were really well done in 3D (the beach scene with the Hitchcock-esque wipes) and that zoom in to Brody. Some parts didn't pop out as 3D at all; thinking the odd scene on the Orca when the woodwork of the boat, barely in picture, is taken to the foreground whilst the remainder is left normal.

On the whole though, it was a really good treatment and seeing it on the big screen for the first time was amazing. Went on my own on the daytime showing and there was myself plus two other people! The sound and picture in IMAX was certainly impressive.

Wasn't this released in 3D a couple of years after the original 1975 release? That's what the joke is about with the holographic shark in Back To The Futture.

I think so, yes. I remember a classmate in primary school mentioning a 3D version of Jaws and that she has seen it. This would have been around 1989 and it was using the retro red/green or red/blue tinted glasses.

Very curious to see this, watching Jaws (one of the best films of all time) on the big screen is quite an opportunity. The scene with the dog and the attack is brutal. Jaws has got to be one of the best films ever made! Not fussed about 3D, agree @Pawnless Endgame a clean unbutchered version would be my preference!

I also want to see the play written by Robert Shaw's son, about the production of Jaws which focusses on the cast (Scheider, Shaw and Dreyfuss are epic), particularly the relationship between Shaw and Dreyfuss. Shaw a classically trained actor saw Dreyfuss as a young upstart, they didn't get on (comes across in the film too)!

Jaws 3 was the original 3D film that I recall (made in 1983?) a dreadful film.

Jaws 2 was not a bad sequel. The rest are awful.

Memory is hazy but wasn't it on TV and they made such a big deal of it that there was a pair of glasses for it taped to the front of the Radio Times mag?
